To You Who Loved Me,
If I die young, do put me in a dress
Soft peach, light and smelling fresh
My hair combed with a flower on the side,
Looking my best for the very last time.
As you send me off to be cremated, leave...
Leave me behind and do not look back
Don't watch me turn into a swirling smoke,
Return to your lives and with time try to forget
There is no point clinging to one who is dead.
I rather live in your past with all other 'what was'
Than be forced to exist in the crowd of 'what ifs'.
I wish I lived longer, I lived better, I lived fuller
But I died happy, with no regrets for any other.
If I die young……….. without time to say goodbye
Know that your presence in my thoughts isn’t a lie.
I do remember my many faults and mistakes,
I did whisper a sorry for each one of them;
My flaws are not me, but that you loved me in spite,
Made me feel cherished and turned every wrong to right.
End comes to all, even if you are not ready or too young
So don’t feel sorry, my life has always been my favorite song.Yours Truly.
